A big thanks to two of my favorite blogging ladies, Mary & Allison, who nominated me for the One Lovely Blog and Liebster Awards! Staying true to the random blogging fashion encouraged by these awards, I figure, no better time than the present for some almost Thursday Thoughts!
1. City vs. Country, Country Wins. Even though I live in a big city, I consider myself to be much more of a ‘country girl.’ I would take a bonfire, s’mores, jeans, and cowboy boots to a little black dress and high heels any day.
2. Baking is the Best Way to Unwind. I find baking to be therapeutic. After a long day, I love to head into the kitchen, empty the cupboards, and bake up a storm.
3. Rodeo = Amazing. Dan and I had a great time at the Jason Aldean concert this week. Some of our best friends had the seats next to us, and we treated it like a weekend even though it was a work night. I also found out today that we have tickets to see George Strait on Sunday!
4. Cereal is Acceptable at Any Time of the Day. Last night, I decided to forgo the typical dinner routine and opted for cereal instead. Honey Crunch n’ Oats, yes please.
5. Bring on the Heat. This weekend’s highs are in the 80s and I am so excited!
Reader Questions: City or Country? Cold Weather or Hot Weather?
So jealous. George is My boyfriend. Wow!
I know he is! I bet he has first row seats for you! π
Lol
I don’t even really want to respond to this I’m so jealous. 80s. Jason Aldean. George Straight. Hmphh.
Finding out about the concert was definitely the bright part of a less than perfect day!
Cereal is DEFINITELY acceptable at any time of the day. In fact, limiting it to one serving is just inhumane. When I know that I have some breakfast for dinner waiting for me at home, my day gets that much better π
I am so happy to hear that you agree! Actually, reading this, I think I might want to go have a bowl of cereal π
Why do you get to go to so many wonderful country concerts!? We have quite a few good artists that come to Michigan, but tickets are SO expensive. Maybe I should just move down south… :p
Haha, yes, you absolutely should! During Rodeo season, there is a concert every night. I usually make it out to one or two, but some people go all out!
Definitely country!! And love Jason Aldean!
But I loooove cold weather..everyone thinks I’m so weird but I love coats and boots and sweaters!
I hibernate when it is cold! I am so impressed that you love it. I feel like loving the cold automatically qualifies you as tough. I am a grinch in the cold weather, haha!
I do not want the heat!!! nooooo! But I’m jealous about your rodeo shows. I haven’t gotten time this year. π¦ eat and drink for me!!
Haha, I am sure I will be right there with you in a couple months and the 100 degree days, but right now I am happy for some summer-like weather π
I will make sure to have another pretzel for you!!
It’d be glorious if it stayed in the 60s … 70s. and yes eat away!!
ooh I am jealous of that weather! I love weather in the 50s-60s, and our weather looked like it was finally starting to warm up… but then it snowed again today. SO CLOSE.
I think, as much as I love the country and the outdoors and the ocean, I’m always going to want to live near a city. I think Joel and I would be so happy in an apartment in the middle of everything!
The city does have a lot to offer, and it is definitely fun to experience during my mid-20s. I hope it starts to warm up for you soon! π
Baking is defiantly therapeutic! I can’t wait to see those temperatures around here, I’m so ready for spring!
I am happy to hear that you agree π I absolutely love to bake!!
amen to cereal. so so true.
I have always been a cereal girl π
Hot weather definitely. But I always want the opposite weather to what it is if its been that way a while.
I definitely agree cereal is an anytime thing π I’m considering having it for dinner.
Haha, I feel the same way π Especially at the end of any season!!
Those cookies look good! Also cereal is totally an acceptable dinner. π I’d say I’m a city girl right now at least because I like all the action. The country is so pretty and calm though so maybe one day I’ll learn more that way. And warm weather all the way!
I am so happy to hear that you agree with the cereal for dinner way of life! A city is fun now, but I think when I have kids, it would be nice to live in a town- I guess only time will tell π
I agree! Cereal is acceptable any time of day for any meal! I love the cold weather (for a while) and then the hot weather (for a while) which is why MN is so good for me!
Minnesota sounds like the perfect place for you! I love that area of the country during the summer especially – it is so beautiful!
I ate cereal for dinner last night too haha love it!
Some nights it sounds so good!!
I am jealous of your weather! Please send some of it to NY haha.
Soon enough π Spring is definitely on its way!!
I’m a country girl at heart too. And my favorite season is Winter (for Christmas) but I cannot wait for some beach time and warmer temps.
I love Christmas too π And I definitely love the beach!!
Aldean and now George Strait? I am soo jealous girl! Have so much fun!
I am so excited to see George Strait. He is definitely one of my all-time favorite singers π
I’m going to have to go with city and Hhhhhhhot weather π
Haha, yes, I love hot weather too π
Ahhh you just saw Jason Aldean and now you have an upcoming George Strait concert too!! Beyond jealous over here. I was trying to decide on some country concerts this year, but a lot of them are unfortunately in May and June. I went to a Brad Paisley one in June last year and was freezinggg at night so we’re hoping for some July dates!
I love Brad Paisley! I would love to see him again! July definitely sounds like the way to go. Summertime concerts are the best π
Jason Aldean! Jealz.
Cereal for dinner = winning.
Jason Aldean is amazing in concert. You would love him! π
Can you send some of that warm weather to Boston?! It got to about 50 the past two days and you’d think we’d won the lottery, people were so excited π
Haha, on its way! I always welcome hot weather with open arms π
I’m definitely a country girl at heart but I like a big day in the city just as much! Cereal for dinner is perfectly acceptable
I do love what a city has to offer, but I think that growing up in Iowa definitely made me more of a country girl! π
I now live in a city (and LOVE it), but am from a small town and I must say that I am definitely a country girl at heart.
Aren’t Rodeos so fun?? My hometown hosts a HUGE one in Iowa every year and it is a great time. They always have awesome country singers performing, too!
I have family that lives in Omaha! It’s a fun place π Do you ever shop at Von Maur? That is one store that I miss!!
Those no bake cookies look so good! They are one of my favorites π I am definitely a city girl but would love to have a farm one day. And I definitely prefer cold weather to hot weather! Jackets and jeans > shorts and tees
I absolutely love no bake cookies! I should share the recipe π
I think it would be so fun to have a farm or ranch. I love animals, they make me so happy!!
i one day will live somewhere in the country.. i dont no how i still live in the city area its just so not me ! so glad you enjoyed the concert, still so jealous lol baking really is so therapeutic plus those cookies look soo good ! and ohhhhh lucky you with that weather, enjoy it!
I agree! I like the city for what there is to do, but I love a backyard, and knowing my neighbors, so I am more for a town!
I am SO a warm weather girl! This whole winter thing is not my style. π Thankfully I live in place that has warm weather about 10 months out of the year, haha!
So cool that you got to go to a Jason Aldean concert! I bet that was fabulous! π
Winter is not my style either! I am all about the hot weather π
I appreciate how you showed no-bake cookies as your example of how much you enjoy baking:)
Haha, thanks π I should have said baking no-bakes!!
