Happy Friday! I am linking up with Katie again today to share some of my favorite details from our wedding 🙂 My mom and I spent many afternoons leading up to the big day prepping mason jars, wine corks, chalkboards, and burlap all to give Dan and my wedding a beachy-rustic feel. Here are some of my favorite pictures that captured the theme that we worked to create!
Reader Question – Do you enjoy planning themed parties and events?
Have an awesome weekend, y’all!!
I fully intend to write a wedding recap post at some point, but since I have no idea when I will get around to it and pictures say 1,000 words, we’ll let them do the talking today!
Have a marvelous Monday and stay warm!
What’s your favorite part of a wedding? I love dancing at receptions. And of course, I love the desserts 🙂
I absolutely love to read virtual coffee date posts but have to admit that I am more of a hot cocoa kind of girl. So that’s what I will be sipping as I provide this little life update. Feel free to grab your coffee or a cocktail, it is after noon, and let’s chat.
If we were having hot cocoa today, I would tell you that I am officially a married lady! Dan and I said our ‘I Do’s’ on November 15, in case you missed the article in People. We truly had the best weekend of our lives celebrating with family and friends!
If we were having hot cocoa today, I would also tell you that after the wedding, I was happy to travel back home but ugly cry sad to send half my bridesmaids back to their home states of Massachusetts (which I still need auto correct to spell), Illinois, Ohio, and Virginia.
Over our second cup of hot cocoa, because we would obviously be having such a great time, I would tell you that I am so excited for the holidays. We will be kicking off Thanksgiving weekend tomorrow and flying out to New York to celebrate with Dan’s family. De makes the most amazing quiche in the world and I am already planning to pack my most comfortable sweatpants in anticipation of all the delicious food!
At this point, I would most likely be eating marshmallows straight from the bag and telling you that I have waited as long as I can to put the Christmas tree up at our place. The radio in my car is set on the Holiday Station and so is my Pandora. Cheesy Hallmark and Lifetime Holiday movies, here I come.
What is your favorite holiday dish?! Any Thanksgiving traditions?!
I don’t know about you, but I am so happy that this off season of the Bachelor/Bachelorette is almost over! Mondays aren’t the same without that relationship drama and the glass, eh, sometimes bottle, of wine that accompany it. You can bet your bottom dollar that come May 20, that show is going to find its way onto my list of ‘little things to love’. Until then, I am loving…..
My dogs. I mentioned in my last post that Dan and I were dog sitting over the weekend. Despite the fact that these boys and girl were the reason for my intermittent sleep, I loved sharing the bed with them.
Saturday Brunch. Paninis and Peach Bellinis definitely fit into my ‘favorite meals’ category. Bonus points for the chocolate dipped peanut butter cookie we shared for dessert.
Registering For Our Wedding. After fueling up with Saturday Brunch, Dan and I went to Bed, Bath, and Beyond to register for our wedding. Registering was definitely one of our favorite wedding related activities. Of course, a fire pit and fondue maker both made their way onto our wish list.
Tennis Time. I absolutely love playing tennis. Aside from the fact that I become entirely too competitive, it is one of my favorite sports. And tennis outfits are cute. So, that’s a win win.
Sunday Funday. We went to a great outdoor bar yesterday for a late lunch and drinks. The weather was amazing. And there was a couple dressed as Batman and Wonder Woman. They took Sunday Funday to a whole new level.
Reader Question: What are you loving this week?
The sun and the sand and a drink in my hand.
The beach is not only my happy place, it is my therapy. As we pulled into the resort yesterday, windows down, ‘Barefoot Blue Jean Night’ playing, and water in sight, I felt an authentic happiness, uninhibited by the world.
After checking in, we walked to our favorite restaurant across the street. Dan grabbed the drink menu and we quickly found and ordered our cocktails. I happily decided on rum punch for the evening.
I promised Dan that I would stay up late and was yawning by 8:00. Fail. We stayed at the pool bar for as long as I could keep my eyes open and called it a night. My grandma tendencies continued this morning as I woke to the sun rising.
We headed out for a walk on the beach and checked out the gazebo where we will be getting married.
Before making our way back to Houston, we had brunch at a restaurant overlooking the water. One Peach Bellini and an order of Rustic Cinnamon French Toast later, we were on our way home.
After a weekend of cocktails and all things unhealthy, I am definitely ready to get back on track with my snacks and workouts.
