Treat Yourself Tuesday – Grocery Store Therapy & Reality TV

Another week, another opportunity to link up with Becky’s ‘Treat Yourself Tuesday!’

Dan got his wisdom teeth out before the weekend, so let me tell you, things got pretty wild and crazy around here. I’m talking deep dish pizza and reruns of ‘New Girl’. We’re still in Season 1 on Netflix and every time I watch an episode, I wonder what took me so long to start watching. I hyena laugh at least 4 times per half hour.

On Sunday, we ventured out to Trader Joe’s. We were almost out of Cookie Butter, not sure how I let that happen. Anyway, I’m weird and certain grocery and super stores (Trader Joe’s, Whole Foods, Costco) provide the same feeling of retail therapy to me as a trip to the mall would for other ladies.

And last night, we of course had to treat ourselves to the season finale of ‘The Bachelor’. Nola and Kiah were as unimpressed with this season as the rest of Bachelor Nation. And the fact that I just said Bachelor Nation makes me feel like I need to go read a book or watch a documentary to redeem myself. Bottom line is that Chris Harrison got a little feisty in the ‘After the Final Rose’ special, and that made up for the yawnfest of a season.

Reader Question – What were the big and/or little ways that you treated yourself this week?!

Treat Yourself Tuesday: Holiday Edition

Today I am linking up with the lovely Becky to participate in my first ever ‘Treat Yourself Tuesday’! And with it being December, I thought it would be fun to highlight the ways I will be treating myself this holiday season! Let me pull up my Pandora Country Christmas station and we’ll get started.

This holiday season, I fully intend to enjoy my favorite Christmas treats, butter, sugar, and all.

On that note, I will also be treating myself to homemade hot cocoa by the Christmas tree. Most likely on the daily. There is something so therapeutic about curling up on the couch and enjoying a hot beverage each evening.

This season, I will take the time to drive and stroll through neighborhoods full of holiday lights. While of course, listening to even more holiday tunes. You can never have too much ‘I’ll be Home for Christmas’.

And most importantly, I will spend as much time as I can with the people I love. Whether it be by taking a yoga class or watching Hallmark movies with my mom or having an Ugly Sweater Christmas Party with friends, I will appreciate the season for the opportunity it provides to spend quality time with loved ones.

Tell me, how will you treat yourself this holiday season?!
