Over Smoothies

First things first, please don’t let this post’s title mislead you. In no way am I over smoothies. Quite the contrary in fact, I am on a big ‘smoothies for breakfast’ kick and figured that since I am currently sipping on one as I type, it could serve as the subject of today’s ‘over coffee’ like post.

Over our smoothies, I would tell you that I am so excited to start a Yoga Teacher Training Program this spring. Yoga has become one of my favorite daily activities. I feel so much stronger both physically and emotionally when I practice regularly and I find that I am much more present in each day. Not to mention, leggings and tanks all day, everyday? Yes, please.

Nola has also recently taken up yoga and favors the pigeon pose. It’s her first move out of bed each morning.

Over smoothies, I would say that it’s a good thing I have all those books up there waiting to be read, because I will be flying to Florida this week to join Dan while he is working. If I’m being honest, I will probably end up reading Glamour on the flight instead. Either way, I have the best of intentions 🙂

And finally, as we finished our smoothies, I would show you my new journal and say how much I love the quote on the cover. My Pinterest mainly consists of inspirational quotes and dessert recipes, so of course the cover would have either a quote or eclair cake on it.

Fly Away with Me

One of the main reasons that I love reading other blogs is because it allows me the opportunity to see the way others spend their free time, eat, work out, relax, essentially, how they live their daily lives. I love to travel, and in a way, I feel like blogging grants me the opportunity to do a bit of that every day.

I thought that considering how much I love to see and hear about all the amazing places in this world, it would be fun to share some of my favorite getaway locations with you.

Dan and I do most of our traveling during the summer months. It reminds me of when I was a kid and we would go on family vacations. Of course, being the youngest, I always found myself sandwiched between my brother and sister. Luckily, we now do the majority of our traveling by plane, or I ride in the front seat. My how times have changed.

The last couple summers have included trips to the Midwest and East Coast as that is where the majority of our family and a lot of our friends still reside. Two summers ago, we actually did what we called a cross country tour and headed to New York, Boston, Cape Cod, and Chicago over the course of 10 days.

That trip holds a special place in my heart as it was when I first met Dan’s family and friends, he met my sister and friends, and surprise, told me he loved me while we walked the streets of downtown Chicago. My first time telling him was far less romantic. But I’ll save that story for another day.

Reader Questions: Do you like to travel? What is your dream getaway?

And on a final and unrelated note, thanks for all your encouragement yesterday after my long day. It definitely reminded me of how grateful I am for all of you! Many Xs and Os to you this Valentine’s Day!

Thanksgiving Week: Time to Travel

I want to run through the halls of my high school. I want to scream at the top of my lungs…

Unbeknownst to me in my last entry, our mini vacation actually begins tomorrow. While I fully intended to work on Wednesday and sprint to the airport midday, my boyfriend had other plans. Plans to drive to the Gulf Coast to stay at my favorite resort for the evening. If you’re wondering if I am excited, just ask the man who rode by on his bicycle and listened to me exclaim the fun news. Just kidding. Maybe. Visions of heated pools, cabanas, sand between my toes, and holiday shopping are already dancing in my head.

This also means that I may have to extend my 8:30 p.m. bedtime tonight to finish all the things on my To Do List. Hello cleaning, laundry, packing, and baking! I’ve semi-joked that my suitcase will break the overhead compartment on our flight to New York, although I’m afraid that there is a slight to moderate possibility of this really happening.

ImageAnd because we all know how much I enjoy “things to look forward to” lists, I’ve included mine for this weekend:

  • QT with Danny Stevie’s side of the family
  • The charades I hope to convince others to play
  • Wining and Dining
  • Eating a little, eating a lot, eating some more, and snacking in between
  • Books, crosswords, and magazines galore
  • Kicking off the holidays NY style!
