The Road to 2014

Although I know I have already written my tribute to the New Year, I’ve decided that sequels are a good thing. I mean, what is ‘Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants’ without ‘Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants 2’, right? Therefore, today’s post will serve as an extension of ‘To Strive and Accept,’ with a little “explore, dream, discover” mixed in.

I think that the celebration of the New Year is so unique because it encourages reflection of the past, thoughtfulness of the present, and consideration of the future, all at once. And while I attempt to live in the present moment, I also believe it is important to be mindful and optimistic about what is to come. Like Yogi Berra said, “If you don’t know where you are going, you’ll end up someplace else.” And so, without further adieu…

My Goals for 2013:

  1. Pray more, worry less
  2. Become a better cook. I’m guessing my fiancé will support this goal as well.
  3. Sign up for a road race.
  4. Keep in better touch with family and friends.
  5. Appreciate the blessings of each day.
  6. Write more handwritten notes.
  7. Laugh more.
  8. Love more.
  9. Dance more.
  10. Experience more.
