Blogging about gratitude has proven to be an interesting task, largely due to my eclectic and random nature. I decide that I’ll express thankfulness for my family and friends, but then I remember all the little things I am grateful for as well: dessert, sports, dogs, syndicated episodes of Friends, shopping, weekends, movie theater popcorn, summer novels on the beach, you get the picture. And it dawns on me, I could spend an entire month writing prolifically about all the things that I appreciate in this life, and that still wouldn’t be enough.
On a good day, I love ‘glass half full’ analogies, and on a bad day, I’d prefer not to hear about ‘waking up on the wrong side of the bed.’ Yet on a normal, mundane day like today, I find truth in the sentiment that
“Choosing to be positive and having a grateful attitude is going to determine how you’re going to live your life.” Joel Osteen
So, here’s to an appreciation of both the big and small blessings of life.
